Gone Rural was started so as to generate sustainable income for women in rural communities across Swaziland. Since then, the company has become a model of social business practices, and has grown from a small shop to supplying retailers across the world.
All raw materials used in Gone Rural products are sustainable, natural and renewable or recycled. The women who harvest the raw grass and sisal, store it at their homes. It is then sold to Gone Rural, dyed and woven into many different types and colours of products.
